batch search strategy

Hi All,

I Want to do batch determination in production order for depandent materials, All depandent material are Raw materials, to do so I have to create batch search strategy, I want to know which t.code I should use COB1( for production ) or MBC1 (for inventory) to do the same.

Hy Ranjan,

Use COB1 for Batch Detrmination in Production / Process order.

For MBC1 is used to create Batch Detrmination during Confirmation or GI with MIGO.

For Batch determination during Production order use COB1.

Before this you have to create the required characteristics & assign it to the Class for the components .

You also have to create Sort sequence in CU70 & give it as ascending or descending.

If the standard condition tables , access sequences, search strategy type etc. are not fulfilling your requirements , you have to create new ones in OCHA . & assign it to search procedure. Further this search procedure has to be assigned in your order type dependent parameters. All this only if the standard

SAP condition types etc. are not suiting your requirements. If it suits your requiremnt then directly create the batch search strategy in COB1.

Moreover if you want the system to determine the batches automatically during order release you can do so by putting the batch entry indicator to 3 in the MRP 2 view of all the components of the material.

Hi,

I hope all necessary settings maintained for batch determination,

If u want to execute the batch determination for components in the component overview of production order , then u have to create batch search strategy at COB1

If u want to execute during order confirmation u have to create batch search strategy at MBC1.

Moreover for automatic batch determination u can use batch entry field at MRP view of Raw material.

Hi Ranjan,

You maintain a Search Procedure in OPL8 - Order Type Dependent parameters.

Then maintain search strategy condition records using COB1.

The batch search will be triggered.

For Production COB1 is enough. If you want to maintain Search strategy for inventory application like Goods Issue for movement types in inventory management, then you can maintain in MBC1.
