Hi All,
We are currently running hana 1.0 SPS12 with one node and we planned do a scale out with 3 nodes on HANA 2.0 SPS02, 1 is master and worked and 3rd being standby , i like to know what are options available ?? like
a) backup db from hana 1.0 SPS12 and restore on single node HANA 2.0 SPS02 and then add additional host ? or
b) downgrade HANA 2.0 SPS02 to hana 1.0 SPS12 and do restore and then upgrade to HANA 2.0 SPS2 using a in place migration.(keeping same release level when doing the restore) ??
Need to know the pros and cons on both of the approach ??
2) Can we develop views and procedures in a Hana 2.0 repository and deploy and test them on a Hana 1.0 node?
3) Any thoughts on New development approach using XS Advanced and additional tooling to complete DevOps toolchain ??
Many thanks in Advance
Hi Dilip,
You want to upgrade HANA 1.0 sps12 to HANA 2.0 sps02, and also migrate to multi hosts.
Option a) you mentioned is the recommended way. Order revision's backup can be used to higher revisions.
Read note 1642148 for more recommendation about backup and recovery.
After adding additional hosts, perform re-distribution.
Regarding requestion 2), I do not recommend that. Some function on 2.0 might not compatible to HANA 1.0.
3) HANA developer Guide can give you more guidance.
