Data mine

Hi all,

Can anybody tell me what is data mine and whats are the role of data mine in BW ,and how can i create data mine for my reports ???

Hi,

Data mining refers to extracting or 'mining' knowledge from large amounts of data, also reffered as

Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD).

The KDD process will have Data Warehousing process as one of the steps in it.

In general the KDD process could be like this:

Databases (or From R/3) -(Cleaning & Transformation)----> Data Warehouse(our BW)

-(Selection & Transformation)> Data Mining---(Patterns evaluation & presentation)

-

> Knowledge

If you go to google and search for datamining, that is data mine. and that's also your answer.

if you do it in the SDN, you'll be data mine also, and probably get a BW answer.
