Calculation of QM costs in cost estimate and Process order using inspection plans / QM Order


we are changing at the moment or approach to calculate the Quality control costs. Actual the QC activity are part of the routings.

Now we have implemented inspections plans and generate for each process order an inspection lot and at the same time a QM order, which collects the costs and will be settled to the related process order.

In our cost estimate I have implemented a template reading out the timing from the inspection plans and using the activity rate from the cost center assigned to the work center. The same template is used for the plan cost calculation for process orders.

This solution works fine.

The problem is now, that on the process order the plan costs and the actual costs (from settlement QM order) are posted with different origin (plan -> Partner object / actua -> empty). As consequence, two lines are generated and only one is containing target costs. This leads in the period end closing step variances (KKS1) to problems - a third line will be created. For the users this is very confusing and makes problems in the checking during period end closing.

So I have two questions:

  • Is it possible to influence the origin in the postings - I didn't saw any functionality for
  • Is there a standard process in SAP to include the QC costs from inspections plans/
    QM orders in the cost estimates.
    I was searching a order settlement template - nothing found.

Because we are near to the going live of a new company using these inspection plans, I would appreciate a "prompt" answer.
