Replicating Datasources

How do I replicate the new DataSource from the source system.

When I go the context menu of the source system in RSA1 and choose Replicate Datasources, what does it do. Does it replicate all the datasources from my source system or do I get to selct which I wanna replicate ?

Can I selectively replicate just my Datasource ?

Hi,

After right click on data source in context menu u select replicate data source it replecte all the data source from your source system which are in active state.....

Hi,

Let check on which application component u assigned that newly created DS, then in BW side select the respective application componet and select replicate DS. If u select directly the SS and replicate, it will replictes all the DS fro m that SS. So it will more time and not necissity to relicate all again.

HI,

Yes it will replicate all the datasources.

If you want to do it selectively.Choose the source system right click Data source overview select your DS and right click replicate.

once you double click on the source system ...you will also see application components on the right hand side...

there you can also replicate per application component basis..

when i right click on my datasource, I see the option Replicate Metadata.

Will selecting this replicate the datasource.

yes,with that you can replicate data source into bw side,it will take several minutes to finsh the process.Once replication process completes then refresh the screen .

See if you are going to replicate all datasources into bw it takes more time to finish. select your data source and replicate it,in less time replication can finish.

r u in 3.x or in 7.0?

if ur in 3.x and doing the replication first time for this datasource u cant find the datasource there in RSA1->source system.

so replicate the datasources in corresponding application component then u can find ur datasource replicated.

if alreadey used datasource and need only that DS to be replicated then choose the Ds and right click replicate DS.

Yes you can go on slectively replicating your DS.highlight your DS and right click and then choose replicate data source.You can also replicate the entire tree by choosing the top node.
