Hi all!
I'm going to install SAP ECC 6.0 in a two nodes cluster and each node has 16GB of RAM with windows 2003 64bit.
How many page file do I need to set on each node?
Also I would like to know what is the limit of page file for partiion? I'm asking that because in 32bit is 4096, but I believe that in 64bit is different.
Thanks,
Wadih
Hi ,
I suppose you are going to use sap 64-bit kernel.
So There must be 20 GByte swap space available for server.
Please check oss note 146289 - Parameter Recommendations for 64-Bit SAP Kernel
also see http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B889654&x=7&y=7

But 20GB is the minimun, right? Because I believe 20GB is not enough for 16GB of RAM.
Sorry but I couldn't see the note you told me because I guess there's something wrong with the portal because doesn't display the webpage.
Is there a kind of formula to calculate the page file you need? Something like 4 * RAM or soemthing like that?
Hi Markus
Yes, I already checked but I have one doubt.
For example, I will install everything in ine server (central, database and application), how I can calculate the swap?
Do I need to sum all the values or only take the value of central system?
This is a cluster installation, do I need to give more RAM because of this?
Hi,
Note 153641 - Swap space requirement for R/3 64-bit kernel is valid for all SAP system running on 64 bit kernel.
if you perform central system installation then you need to set min. 20 GB swap on that system. you can assign more 10 GB if you want.
also check Note 146528 - Configuration of R/3 on hosts with much RAM

kaushal
thank you ,
it is what I said in my first post.
what you tell is explained more exaustive in note 153641 ( posted correctly by Malavia ) and it is correct .
ps 20 gb is the minimum, so this means that if necessary you can increase more generously on 64bit enviroment
Bye.
