How to get batch number from characteristic

Hi Experts,

I know this question is bit different, generally people search for batch characteristics, but in my project I have a requirement, where I have to search for batch number for given characteristic. Till now what I found is I can get class from characteristic, but not getting any hint - how to go to batch.

Please help me on this.

in a batch determination you always search for batches based on characteristic values, so I do not really see why the question is different.

If I know the batch, then you can straight lookup the characteristics and its values in MSC3N.

Whenever a batch is needed that fulfills a certain characteristic value then one searches for batches based on this value.

Batch determination is already countless times explained and you can find it described in help.sap.com and in wikis and blogs here in the community.

If you just want find the batches independent from a business case like sales order, delivery or movement then you can do this with CT12 transaction.

Enter your characteristic, hit enter, and then enter the value of the characteristic for which you want find the batches.

Make sure you select the box in front of classification and entered class 022 or 023 (depending on your batch level)
