Hi,

I was wondering is it possible to deploy custom Java-based backing service on SAP Cloud Platform. We need to have Druid for our infrastructure (more about it can be found here http://druid.io/) and I do not know what are the steps go forward with this.

Any hints?

Thank you.

Best,
Ljubisa.

Hello, Ljubisa, I think you can follow the instructor by referring the link below. Step by Step to deploy your backend service to the SCP server.

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, this is not what I am looking for. This is the tutorial how to deploy your Java web application on SAP Cloud Platform. I need to deploy separate backing service. I have a whole server, think about it like new Tomcat on your own together with the application, not just WAR, or like PostgreSQL, or MongoDB etc. I need to deploy service like this, not just plain Java application.
For example, on AWS I would use EC2 instance and deploy service there with Ansible scripts etc.

Best,
Ljubisa.

Hi Ljubisa, I got it. Your application is like spring boot which is has embedded tomcat server, something like that. As I know for current SCP neo or foundry environment you can only deploy war file onto the tomcat server which is provided by SCP. However, your requirement is like you just need a Paas service, I suggest that you should contact with operation team to double confirm about it. thanks
