upgrade roles from SAP ECC6 to S/4 Hana

Hi,

we are planning to migrate our system from a ECC6 to S / 4 Hana, so we need to upgrade the existing roles to the new platform.

I would ask you if this is an upgrade as we did with the transition from 4.6C to ECC6, so adding new transactions instead of the old ones and introducing new authorization objects? in simplification lists it is has been shown that many transactions will be removed, but only in a few cases a new transaction is indicated, as BP replaces FD *, FK *, * XK ....

Is there a list of new transactions instead of the old?

Doing the upgrade you will be indicated in the table PRGN_CORR2?

What I know is that you can always put any Role or N no of Roles in Transport Request & then later on after migration you can put that in data & co-files folder & then make in STMS Add to Queue & then import the TR as normal & you would again get the roles in your new system also. In this kind of migration job, I would rather migrate the development system into the new platform & then go for a client copy & then when we are done with the production system migration. Then i would login to the DEV system & whatever Roles I would require would put in TR via PFCG only & in this way I would get the required roles copied to the Production system also if anything deviation happens in PRD system.

I also would be interested in undestanding whether a diagnostic tool exists highlighting impacts on roles from an S/4 HANA Conversion. For the S/4 HANA Finance realm we have note

1946054 - SAP Simple Finance, on-premise edition: Transaction codes and programs - Comparison to EHP7 and EHP8 for SAP ERP 6.0

showing a number of modified/removed transactions, but no comprehensive view or a diagnostic tool, as far as I know.

Hi Samir,

If you execute a system conversion, then for sure there needs to be a role adjustment due obsolete transactions as well as for transaction code replacements.

Even if this documented in the simplification list.

As part of the technical activities you need to execute SU25 transaction. There is also additional activities related to the Fiori apps you would want to incorporate in your transition project. You can find more information in the conversion guide.
