BOM with alternate unit of measure

Is it possible to create the BOM with alternate unit of measure ?

JJ - Header level is not Possible, but use the conversion factor , for example Base unit is Pack and Production unit is Case (8 Pack), then maintain the BOM as 8 Pack , so components will be matched as it can be maintained in the Production unit also.

Standard SAP will take from the BUOM.

Hi,

Not possible to create BOM by item material with alt unit of measure.

If you want to use other UOM in production, use issue unit in work scheduling view.

If you want to procure use order unit in purchasing view.

For selling use sale unit in sales view.

We maintained the UOM / Alternate UOM in the material master and also the Unit of issue too.

But the System suggesting the Base UOM ONLY .. I want to produce 1 case . , the base unit is pack .

8 case is 1 pack. I want to maintain the BOM in Case, Not in Pack , Please explain me in details

Hi,

Unit of Issue will only help in changing the Unit of measure at the time of GI

You maintain the production unit & the same unit will come in the produced qty

Try with production unit in work scheduling.In this case your production / process order are generates in alt. unit or we can say production in alt. unit.

1) Alternate unit of measure maintain in material master with conversion factor.

2) That Alternate unit is maintain as Issue unit in Plant data 1 in material master.

For BOM the unit of measure is from material master only.

You can use the alternate units given in material master.

yes, but you have to include that unit of measure in the material master additional data , units of measure tab , as alternate unit.

Please clear your question and elaborate the same. A material can have alternative unit of material rather then BOM.

Hi,

It is possible only for the variable size items & not for the normal materials

You have to maintain the alternate unit of measure in the material master-additional data
