Portal Webdynpro Content Administration without System/Super Admin Access

Former Member

Hello,

I would like to give my Portal Developers access to the "Webdynpro Content Administration".

The Developers are currently assigned only the Content Admin role (No system/user/super admin roles assigned)

I know that to be able to view the Webdynpro Content Admin area, the user should be in the

J2EE Engine "Administrators" group.

But, if I assign a Developer to the "Administrators" group, they will also have super admin Role which is not wanted.

How can I allow the developers to have all the access in WD Content administration without giving them system/super admin roles.

What set of permissions/authorizations would it require to build a Role that would achieve this?

It would also be OK if Devlopers have:

- Full Content Admin Previliges

- WebDynpro Content Admin Previliges

- Display only access to System Administration

I have browsed around different forums and could not get any information on how to achieve this.

I hope to get some inputs from some experts out there.

Thanks,

Raj

you can give access to Webdynpro Content Administration without assigning the Administrator or super_admin_role. here is the procedure.

Go to content admin-> portal content.

Right click on portal content & open permissions.

Here, in Assign new permissions dialog box, select a role/group & choose any role/group (eg choose everyone group) to which you want to add this permission. select this group & click the GO button. This should add the group in the assigned permissions box. Now you can give read, read/write, etc permissions for the portal content. when you assign this role to any user in user admin tab. then the user should be able to view the portal content. Hope this helps.
