Calculated Inventory values for blocked stock

All,

We have a requirement to report inventory values for finished goods, raw materials, and blocked stock using the data in the 0IC_C03 cube. The values in this cube are not available by stock type, which is an issue for us.

According to the OSS note 589024, this issue can be overcome by calculating a "standard cost factor" using constant selections and using this factor x qty to get the values.

This solution works ok until we want to have drilldown capabilities based on plant, product group, etc. When trying to drilldown by product group, we run into a problem where the avg price x product grp qty on the detail rows does not add up to the overall avg price x total qty.

The problem with totals can be overcome by changing the Display Results setting on the Calculation tab in Key figure properties to display as "Total".

BUT, we still have an issue where that if you display a the product group characteristic for a plant, it adds up to a different number than if you just display the plant without product group drilldown.

This seems like classic math trivia that says "the avg of the totals does not equal the total of the avgs". Does anyone know of a way to overcome this??

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

thanks
