Error while TRANSFER System is trying to write data that were not locked

Hi Everybody,

I am encountering a Error Msg when i try to TRANSFER plan values .The Error masg is

"System is trying to write data that were not locked".

I never got this msg before. I checked my Planning query, it looks fine. I have the cells in Blue but couldn't change values or create new records.

I have the locks set up in RSPLSE too.

I am on BI-7 IP SP12.

Hi,

I have not seen this error. Just trying to imagine what could be the issue.

Does this occur everytime you try to save data?

Check the settings for this infocube in RSPLSE (second tab - "Lock Characteristics"). Does everything seem fine here?

My RSPLSE settings are fine. Infact i am the only user accessing the data.

I get this error when i try to TRANSFER or SAVE plan data.

i checked in the forum , searched for notes but to no avail.

this is the 1st time i am getting this error.

Hi,

the OLAP check whether data to be saved were already locked. This message indicates a program error. There is a fix for this problem but the fix is contained in very complex notes (dealing with other problems). Thus I recommend that you update your system to the most recent support package 17. Then also the effect you observed will vanish.

I was able to replicate the issue in your system.

Please implement the note 1153756 in your system.

1153756 : Template: BI 7.0 (SP18) / BI 7.1 SPS06

This note will solve your issue.

If the issue still persists then , please try using a blank value for

RSADMIN parameter RSPLS_DATA_CHECK_WRITE = X.

This parameter triggers some 'extra' checks.

Using a blank value should avoid these error message which you are

getting.

Hi all,

I was able to find a way to this problem.

We were not able to implement the above mentioned note(dont know what the reason is, will check with SAP).

but when i maintained initial value for RSPLS_DATA_CHECK_WRITE in RSADMIN i was able to TRANSFER & SAVE my plan data.

Also NOTE 969964 - IP: Parameter for strict check of planned data has clear information on RSPLS_DATA_CHECK_WRITE.
