Can somebody guide on how material group effects the PO release strategy as i am facing a problem, that in a PO having 2-3 line items if all material group are different it doesn't attract rel.strategy. It attracts only if all items have same matl group.
And if i see CL24N , under matl group all groups are allowed.
Hi
Po release strategy is always at header level
Material group is at item level in PO.If ur creating Po with more than 1 material group system get confused in such case and does not trigger any release strategy
so while creating PO restrict user to use 1 M group only

There are 3 options for this:
1) In your release strategy classification, maintain a "blank" value in the material group characteristic. This will take care of different material groups in PO.
2) Activate the user exit for PO Release, and move the material group of the first undeleted line item. Then the release strategy will be determined based on the material group of the 1st line item.
3) Do not have release based on material group
Hope this resolves,

HI,
Release strategy for PO at material group level is not possible bcause, in PO release strategy is applicable @ header level means it is applicable all line items.Material group is @ item level so it is not applicable to multiple material groups.

in a particular release strategy u can assign only one value against each characteristic.thats why when ur po contains numrous line item with different material groups, the system fails to identify one particular release strategy.
