Experience with SAP Belize theme in S/4HANA conversion project

We are currently in the early stages of a project to convert our SAP ERP (EHP8) system to S/4HANA 1709 on-premise.

While it is mandatory to migrate our Fiori apps (currently few in number) from the SAP Blue Crystal theme to SAP Belize theme, we have a decision to make regarding the adoption of the SAP Belize theme (also known as the new SAP Fiori visual theme) for our classic SAP GUI for Windows applications.

There are clearly some welcome benefits of Belize as described in the following document: SAP Fiori Visual Theme for Classic Applications.

Our concern is with respect to the amount of effort required to make the necessary adaptations to custom ABAP applications, as mentioned in the following SAP note: 2365556 - Availability of the Fiori 2.0 visual theme for classical applications (theme "Belize") in SAP GUI for HTML, SAP GUI for Java and SAP GUI for Windows.

I wondered if anyone has practical experience in migrating from ERP to S/4HANA, and what your views are on Belize?

One option may be to phase in usage rather than migrate big-bang at go live.
