How install Oracle client libraries?

Hi,

This is Dai. I have one question about preparation of installation of IDM.

Before installing the IDM, I must install the DB client libraries on each server which is linked to IDM.(from the document of "Installation overview")

However, I have no information about how get the Oracle client libraries and how install them.

If someone has some information about it, please help me.

Oracle Client Libraries installation is the same meanings as the installation of Oracle Client software, I understood.

Can you please confirm that you have download the client/ client libraries from

http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10201winsoft.html

Oracle Database 10g Client Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0)

?

Or is it from alternate location please tel the exact path.

Also I am planning to install IDM on an existing BI server. Can IDM uses the existing clients libraries installed for BI server? if not will the installation of new client libraries will break the current BI server setup?

Please help me with this.

1 Oracle client/client libraries

I downloaded and installed Oracle client/client libraries from OTN web site you told.

2 IDM installation into BI server

I cannot answer this question because I have only one experience to install IDM, and I installed it into the stand alone machine.

But, I think it is available to install IDM on the same machine as, for instance SAP BI. Because the installation guide of IDM says it.

I installed "Oracle client" software through download from Oracle Technology Network website.

However, I wonder if it becomes the fact that I did install the Oracle client libraries?
