Revert from XI to 8.5

Post Author: melaniejones

Okay, through a series of unfortunate events, I managed to open a production report that was written and used by an embedded CR 8.5 platform in CR 11...and saved it. There weren't any changes made to the report, other than the (apparent) format change. Is there a way to get this report back into the 8.5 version? Barring that, is there a way to copy the entire contents of the report, including the many subreports, and save it in 8.5? My users are going to kill me if I can't recover this report.

if you dont have a copy in rpt format i dont think you can open the report in 8.5 it if was created in a higher version i would try that first.

i would then make copies of all your reports and store them in source safe so you never lose the original copy.

you can copy the fields etc from the 11report and paste it into 8.5, but i would make a copy of the report first then try to open in 8.5 in case it corrupts.
