Landscape Printing Problem with Crystal Reports 2008

Post Author: thomasmckane

CA Forum: General

I'm having an issue with reports designed for landscape viewing. Everything looks great in CR designer, CR viewer (.net) and all previews. However, when I click the print button on the viewer during runtime, it always prints portrait no matter what is selected for orientation. If I click export, it exports to PDF correctly, landscape, but printing to a printer or to Adobe PDF comes out portrait.I've tried everything I know of. Anybody have suggestions? Thanks

    Hey Thomas,

I hear you ! Brave soul to tackle the new monster. I don't know anything about Cr 2008.

Sounds like you've made some recents changes. If you have the same problem when printing

a .pdf file, maybe you need to update your printer driver.

    That's all I got.

    All the best,

OK, since the reports were originally done in a previous version of CR, I started a fresh RPT file and copied the information in, recreating the report from scratch. This seems to have fixed the problem. I'll just make sure to re-create all my landscape reports from scratch for 2008.

Thanks, it doesn't matter what printer driver I use, they all do it. I fixed the problem by recreating the reports from scratch in 2008. BTW. CR 2008 is sweet, it's a must have upgrade IMHO.

    Hi Thomas,

I have a similar problem. I got print landscape format but report width got small like portrait.

At "Design tab" I can modify the size of each r section by sliding the section bars up and down with the mouse, but I have not got modify report width.

    Any help would be appreciated!
