creating a report using oracle

Hi, I'm trying to create a label report accessing an oracle database.. The problem is that I want to produce a label for a record in the addresses table based upon the value of a different record in the same table. Is there anyway of double passing a database table based on seperate criteria. or extracting to a temp table based on information in a different record.
