CA Forum: Upgrading and Licensing
I'm having a little trouble grasping the licensing rules for a website. It looks like I can use VS2005 to develop a site and then use the integrated Crystal Reports to develop a couple reports. To my understanding I can then move from a development box to production server.
However, my confusion comes in with how many users can hit that report off of a webserver before a license becomes an issue. Being new to VS, I understand you can use the tool to develop applications. I am using it to develop a website only.
I've stumbled across;
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317789/en-us and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318102/en-us on the MS site.
Scenario 1. 5-15 users hit the report at the same time
Scenerio 2. 20-50 users hit the report at the same time
Scenerio 3. 75-100 users hit my site and view various reports created by Crystal Reports.
The above are hypothetical situations. I'm just trying to understand what licensing issues I should be aware of.
