CA Forum: Formula

I am new to Crystal Reports and need a report that shows a count of employees by Job Type and Salary Range. I have a column defined for each Salary Range but if a salary for that Job Type and Salary Range is 0 it is included in the count. Below is an example of Job Type A805. Each Column represents a range of salaries. Column 1,2, & 3 Should have a count of 0. Column 4 a count of 1. Coulmn 5 a count of 8, etc.

Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Rick

    If you are counting them, then you will get 9, you may need to select sum, if that is not what you want. You could use a running total, Field to summarize will be your column, type of summary will be count, Evaluate will be a formula, if = 0 then 0 else 1 any time the value is above 0 it will be counted. You can reset on group, or field, or whatever.

    depends on what version you are using, but the running total wizard has bugs, manual running totals work best, but if you want to just count your records and not sum then try

    create a formula

    if =0 then 1

    then sum the formula.
