As nobody answered in 5 days and I have never heard about that term in ERP the answer seems to be "No"
In a Salesforce document I found a description about a lead:
A lead is a potential customer that is not yet associated with an opportunity or account.
Why:
Leads help you track all of your prospecting and outreach activities to generate new opportunities.
This is as well not something that came across my desk. And based on the word "customer" it would probably be a customer master in a specific account group in a ERP system.
