Restrict from creating a PO if the delivery date is outside the validity date of the contract.

Hi Everyone,

I need your help on how a user will be restricted from creating a PO if its delivery date is outside the validity date of the contract entered in the PO.

See below for example:
Contract Validity Date: January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017

Delivery Date in PO: January 18, 2018

PO Creation Date / Document Date: October 12, 2017

However, the user mentioned that there were a time when they were blocked in creating a PO when the delivery date is outside the validity of the contract so I'm not quite sure if there already is a mechanism set-up that blocks creation of PO that just did not work because of something that is not correctly entered in the contract or PO. Maybe because the contract and PO don't have the same purchasing group? Not sure if that affects the some functionality.

Thank you in advance!

Best Regards,
Jerson

In standard, system checks the PO document date not the delivery date. Refer to the KBA 2481623 - Error 06041 is issued when trying to create PO with reference to an expired Contract. Also check is there any additional coding in badi to restrict the same.
