sorting timed records

hi

i have loads of records which are timed and need to identify the first and last records which occur on a given day

when i use datetimetotime () for a given date i get back all the records i need

i then need to identify the chronological first and last records

i'm a novice at this (one day's training then i'm the company expert !!)

can anyone help ??
