OLE DB Provider List EMPTY in VS 2005

CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL

I have an ASP.NET application in VS 2005 using OEM Crystal. I have written about 4 reports - I created these reports a couple months ago, I connected to the SQL server via "OLE DB Providers". No problem. The list was FULL of providers when I created the data connections via the database wizard.

Yesterday I went in to create a new report. Opened the Database wizard and amazingly the OLE DB Providers list is empty.

hmmm...I didn't empty it. Where did they go?

The existing reports still run fine, but if I try to add a new datasource to them, the OLE DB Providers list is also empty. Is there a way to get them back?

Thanks!

Larry

Sounds like your Crystal install might have changed, did you check that?

Or perhaps you installed under a different account and this user does not have permission.

Try going under the Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs and select Change under CR and make sure that the OLE DB Providers are set to install on local disk.
