Bar/Line chart color

I have some reports with graphs (both bar and line) and need to set the bar/line colors according to the value of the series. There is a field called priority and needs to be color coded as red for criticial, blue for major and green for minor. I have tried setting the color of this value manually, but it only works for that particular report range. Supposingly, if I run the report again with different date range or criteria, the color of the bar/line go back to default. How can I achieve my color codes for the bars/lines? This is very important. Please help.

I installed Service Pack 7 and vola, I got the option to format the color according to conditions. I have made the changes but yet to see the results, coz its hosted on a server.

I have CR XI, I can go into Chart Expert, select color highlight and put in the conditions, one of the options was (Between) so value between 20 - 80 then use red, etc....
