Changing the chart's legend text - does not save it.

I did the following few times already but I save the report and come back but it still had labels as "Sum of @ForecastDistribution" under Displayed Label.

On the Preview tab, click the text in your chart's legend to select it.

Tip: Be sure to select the text and not the entire legend.

Right-click the legend text and select Edit Axis Label from the shortcut menu.

In the Label Aliasing dialog box, add the text you want to see in the Displayed Label field.

Click OK.

Thanks

Praveen

When I use CR XI R2 I had something similar.

Nome of my edits were being saved if I opened a subreport by double-clicking the report from the main report and then editing. I had to open the subreport specifically and save the report.

I had exactly the same problem. My chart was placed in a group footer. I changed the axis label on the chart in each group and saved. But when I opened the report again the changes were gone. But I found out how to do it! Do as pchopra says above. After that right-click the legend once more and choose Apply Changes to all Charts. That did it for me!

I am having the same issue.I am able to edit the name via the above instructions. If I run the report within that session it looks great. If I save the file and then close and reopen, it reverts back to the formula name. For some reason it is not holding those edits when the rpt is saved.

I am using Crystal 9.

If anyone has figured out how to resolve this, please advise.

Thanks,

Laurie

I had the same problem as you and stumbled upon this little blurb from some CR9 documentation:To edit the labels and X-axis

Open the report in Preview mode.

Click the text that requires editing. A black frame (or four

black dots for X-axis labels) appears around the chosen text.

Right-click the text.

Choose Edit Axis Label. The Label

Aliasing dialog box appears.

Edit the text.

====================

NOTE:

If the same chart appears multiple times (for example, in a

group header) these changes will only be applied to a single chart.

In order for it to apply to all charts, right click on the chart

and choose Apply to all Charts. The "Note" part is what fixed my problem (using CR XI R2). Hope this helps someone.Ragu
