CA Forum: Charts and Graphs

Hi,

I am using a Bar chart in Crystal that shows a person's financial holdings, divided into 3 different groups (groups). Each group can contain different security types (names). One kind of security can exist in different groups. In the chart settings there are two fields (group, name) in the "On change of" list on the Data tab.

The groups are sorted in Ascending order and the names use a Specified order. The specified order works fine for in the first group, but not in the last of the three groups.

Example:

Sortorder: Equities, Bonds, Derivatives, Structured products, Others, Pension products

In group (bar) 1: Equities, Bonds, Structured Products

In group (bar) 2: Derivatives

In group (bar) 3: Pension products, Equities <--- Wrong order, should be the opposite

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it a bug?

Let me know if you want more details and I can add pictures.

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards, Tina

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to this! Unfortunately I forgot to mention that I use CR 9... and I did not manage to solve my problem by using your suggestions. I tried to add a picture with description of my problem but I did not have the permission to do that...?

Best regards, Tina

Well, more details is always fun, but I will take a stab at this anyhow. I have CRXI, in the chart expert, go to the on change of section, click on one of the two fields, next to the order button look for Top N, click on that and select top N. In the based on, select one of your available items, and see what you get. Or you can try the Order button and use a formula if needed to force the orders.
