CA Forum: Migration to XI R2
We are looking at upgrading from Crystal 10 to Business Objects XI R/2. I have talked with a couple of different consultants and have conflicting answers. The question is regarding scheduled reports migrating to the new system once we are upgraded. One answer was we will to manually recreate the scheduled reports on the new Business Objects XI R/2 system. The other answer was we do not need to manually create the scheduled reports; we can use the import wizard to move the reports between the systems.
Does anyone have experience with this and can you please shed some light as to the correct solution?
Thanks for any help!
Christine

Anton,
Could you please explain what do you mean by scheduling wasn't migrated because i thought we can migrate the instances with XIR2 itself....but when we tried to migrate the sheduling to the another cms (eg. cms01) then the instances which pointed to the old report in cms01 would get deleted...

Christine,
This is an easy one to explain. With the original XIr2 import wizard, scheduling wasn't migrated. With SP2, the import wizard has been upgraded to copy scheduling across with caveats that are detailed in the product documentation.
I've tried it myself twice in development and it seemed to do the job.
Regards
Anton
