List of reports by univers

Post Author: Karine

Hello,

I would like to have a list of reports (web intelligence document or deski) by univers. I have, in CMS(BOXIR2 no patch), a list of objects, a list of univers, but not the relation between the 2 informations on the same screen......

How can I do? Where is this information?

Thank you and have a nice day.

Karine.

    Karine,

Obviously you've discovered that there are two tables that can be queried via the Querybuilder (ci_infoobjects and ci_appobjects), butI too cannot find a link between the two entities. For other's information, here are some sample SQL statements you can run in QB to zero in on what we are discussing:

    1) select * from ci_infoobjects where si_kind='webi'

    2) select * from ci_appobjects where si_kind='universe'

The only glimmer of hope that I can pass along without going into an SDK route (as IF that would possible help), would be to populate the "keyword" field in your reports with the universe source (i.e. Universe: MyUniverse as the lead-in item typed in the field) along with other normal tidbits you've possibly been adding. Then using the Querybuilder you could run the first SQL statement as:

    select si_name,si_keyword from ci_infoobjects where si_kind='webi'

Using the keyword field in your application will expose the universe used in QB, and voila, you have what you want. You could audit the results found in the keyword field against the ci_appobjects table to eyeball its validity in case someone populates the keyword field with a misspelled universe name. Also, the use of the keyword field in the "save as" function when saving a report is optional, so you would either have to go behind your users and manually populate the keyword field (do this via the properties tab for any report in WebI when signed in as administrator), or mandate that users populate this as they save their reports.

    Good luck.
