I just got a new computer with vista and when I try to use the java client to develop webi reports, the allow certificate window will not show. User is running as an administrator and has uac working. Any ideas to get that window up so that i can use the java client? the query builder & html versions work fine.

BrentGee,

You say that the user is running as an administrator, but does that mean an administrator on the workstation or the WebI account? If running as administrator on the WebI account, but not an administrator on the workstation, then that means that the user cannot install anything on the client unless using the administrator account. So, it would not be totally necessary to run as an administrator in WebI in order to trip something to load on the workstation. If running as an administrator on the workstation and still having a problem, then here are a couple of suggestions:

check to see which version of Java is loaded and ensure that it is no higher than 1.6

open up the Java Control Panel (JCP), via the Control Panel, and go to the general tab, then under "Temporary Internet Files", use the available buttons to clear the cache (aka Delete Files...)

As a last resort, navigate to the user's folder under "Documents and Settings" and locate the temporary Java folders (they usually start with a period (.), such as .java and .jpi_cache -- remove these, reboot the workstation and try again

If all of this does not work, verify that your current architecture is supported by Business Objects by visiting this site: http://support.businessobjects.com/documentation/supported_platforms/xi_release2/default.asp
