Please help with this frustrating problem!
I have been to the support website and found 5 Kbase articles there, tried out the suggestions but nothing worked. I have also tried re-installing both Xcelsius and MS Office but still cannot import a spreadsheet. Is it some kind of Windows update that might be causing this error? I really don't want to re-install Windows.

Try save your excel model with .xls extenstion (1997-2003 format), not .xlsx extension (2007 format). I had experienced the same issue.

I understand it is May 2008 now and it seams the same problem is still there in the software. Can anyone please advise if this problem is solved in the product now.
i do understand what you are saying but do not see what the solution is.
i have the same problem. just bought the product and am now 3 hours later not able to start. I have killed all my (some necessary) excel add-ins, reluctantly shut down my virus detector and am still experiencing this problem. Could it be that it's MS OFFICE 2007??
please don't let me go back to MS OFFICE 2003

I downloaded the trial version of Xcelsius Workgroup and had the same problem (Xcel 2007). Then I noticed I had saved my spreadsheet after opening a new window. Once I closed the second window and saved the spreadsheet, the problem went away. Lucky for me, I fixed the problem in time to rebuild my demo dashboard for management approval,

"Excel is busy" is caused by there can't create Excel Com Object, or the resource for creating Excel object is exhaust.
