But the servers are new, I do not understand because it detects a database, when I have not installed anything yet.

>>ORACLE_SID=orcl ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/product/12cR1/db<<

Is there an Oracle database installed here? Maybe that could be the reason. But this is found under the root user environment variables. Moreover these values cannot be considered for SAP installation as they are not based on SAP recommendations. As you are doing a distributed installation (DB on different host and I assume that you provided the correct hostname for the database) you should now connect to the DB host and check for any existing Oracle installations. Is the hostname for Oracle is alester? Check if there is another database installed.

Hi, James.

Attached file sapinst_dev.log env.txt . It is observed in the environment variables a 'ORACLE_SID = orcl ". He did not think or set up before starting the installation. It could be the reason for the sapinst report the existence of a previous installation of ORACLE? Is it then advisable to select the "Remove and Recreate Database" option?

(Translation from Spanish to English with Google Translate).

Best regards, Thanks.

Hi Erika,

Please check the environment variables, whether any oracle related settings are existing.
Further more, can you share us the sapinst_dev.log?

Best regards,
James
