CA Forum: Performance Management and Dashboards

I have followed the resolution presented by this article KBase Article ID:c2018756

http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&ext... 0 19692166

but it still did not resolve the problem, I am still unable to access performance manager section from Infoview, I have entered the keycode for Dashboard Manager and still no shortcut. Please assist. Thanks.

CA Forum: Performance Management and Dashboards

Worked with a support person via WebEx, and got Performance Manager to work for all users using the procedure listed above. So, the problem first encountered (above) is no longer a problem (Thank goodness!).

I am reporting a "gripe" which was not explained in Licensing; that is:

If the User/purchaser purchases Performance Manager to do Dashboarding (like us), the "PMUser" that is automatically instantiated "uses" one of the

"Named User" Licenses?

We are a small company doing development for our client who will have a large # of licenses.

We purchased 3 seats/licenses. With the above problem/issue present, our purchase of an additional option "uses" one of the "Named User" licenses that we paid for????

This seems really bogus!!!!!

I also found a reference to this situationin the Knowledge Base regarding ~"How to release PMUser from using one of the User Licenses" (my paraphrase)

Can the support team please refer us to a procedure by which we can have PMUser NOT encumber one of the licenses we've purchased??

Thank you,

Roy Riegel

Below is the reference in the Knowledge Base

My question is, "How does one 'Log on to Performance Management' to get this 9 step process started? Does this infer that you log into the CMC as PMUser, log into

InfoView as "PMUser" or something else??

To use an account other than PMUser for the Initialization User so that it does not use a license, complete the following:

Log on to Performance Management.

Click the Setup icon > System Setup tab > System User link.

Change the Initialization User to an account that is part of the Enterprise Administrators group. Click Check > Apply.

IMPORTANT

Change the Initialization User account information here first before changing it in InfoView.

Log on to InfoView using the Enterprise administrator account.

Click Preferences > Performance Management tab.

Click the Change Initialization logon user checkbox. Enter the same account used on the System User page.

Click Apply > OK.If using a password, it will be stored in the inifconfig.properties file. It is encrypted and not saved as plain text.

Restart AA services, Application Server, and Web Intelligence services.

Disable the PMUser account in the CMC.

CA Forum: Performance Management and Dashboards

I have the identical problem with some minor differences.

The scenario:

1. Installed Enterprise Web Intelligence and Performance Manager using Eval. Keycodes for each of these TWO.

2. Did some startup work connecting to Oracle DB, creating Universes, Creating Dimensions and creating Dashboards using Analytics

3. During all this time Performance Manager and Dashboard Builder "just worked" spendidly; no issues!!

4. Received Permanent Keys for Enterprise Web Intelligence, and Performance Manager; substituted these perm. Keys in CMC "Keys" dialog.

4a. NOTE: After email dialog with B.O. Licensing, found out that I SHOULD have received a "Dashboard Manager" Key also. I added that Key in CMC. Now I have three Permanent keys in the CMC keys.

5. Restarted all "AA*" services in CCM

6. InfoView works but Perf. Manager and Dashboard Builder no longer works.

7. Followed several procedures in Knowledge Base regarding general ~"Performance Manager icon & links no longer work".

8. Keep on coming back to "There is no AA Analytics Server available, please contact your Administrator to verify server status. AA2213"

9. If I follow, the Knowledge base article on how to solve step 8, I return to Step 8 with the same message OR I get a IE 6.0 "crash" message.

Need assistance in getting Perf. Mgr. to work for all users.
