What do we need for Webservices communicating with PI ?

Hello everybody,

after understanding the use of pck in a landscape, theres another question:

Lets say we have szenario A:

System A - SAP NetWeaver PI equipped System (the "main" system), the future WebService-Consumer

System B - no SAP - Components installed but shall be a WebService-Provider

I have already read "Service-Enabling a Legacy Application with SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1" where it says :

On System B first of all Installing and configuring SAP NetWeaver Process Integration

Great, I thought - but thats not possible in System B. The reasons for that are no matter, it is what it is.

And it says - no SAP-Components within my Landscape.

What has to be done to System B to provide its WebService to System A ?

So, the next szenario is easily imaginable szenario B:

System A - SAP NetWeaver PI equipped System (the "main" system), the future WebService-Provider

System B - no SAP - Components installed but shall be a WebService-Consumer

and again we have to keep System B "clean" of SAP-Components.

What has to be done to System B to be able to consume the webservice that System A offers ?

Thanks in advance !

Greetings

René
