"The environment has changed; the layout can no longer be executed"

Hi guys,

I have revceived a planning area complete with planning level, package and layout. When I want to enter plan data, I get the following error message.

"The environment has changed; the layout can no longer be executed"

In order to try to re-generate, I opened the layout and planning area, level, package in change mode, then saved but it was no help.

Any ideas

Thanks,

Rod

First, you will have to go back to the main menu before re-trying in case you changed and saved in another session.

Second, after changing and saving, try 'enter plan data' option in the workbench BPS0.

Thanks Stephan,

I had logged off before I re-tried. I also used "enter plan data" to test but I still got the error message.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

Select values for all variable which are in the folder and then execute the layout. If this is the problem with layout, when you open layout in change, it displays the error message, say ok, then it removes the variables from the layout becoz of which it is giving error. Modify the layout and execute once again.

I guess it would depend on what sort of change you had made to the layout, and whether or not it worked before the change. Presumably you also brought up the final layout screen after making the change. If the change added/removed charactistics it may be worth checking that the named cells are in the correct places, like sap_F0001, sap_F0002, sap_S0001 and so on, and that the header area looks sensible. But its difficult to say exactly what to look at.

Hi guys,

thanks for the replies. I got held up with something else.

I ended up replacing fixed values for all the variables in all planning levels, opening the layout in change mode and making any necessary changes, then re-installing the variables and saving. After starting BPS0 again, the message didn´t appear anymore and I was able to Enter plan data.

Thanks a lot for the support,

Rod

Hi ,

This error comes when you have done some changes in the first or second screen of the mannual planning layout and have saved before going into all the screens of the layout design. You should save it at the end of the mannual planning screens.

So go to the mannual planning layout and click the continue button twice and save it .

Hope this helps...

Hi Rod:

Try this: When modifying layout, go through all 3 steps until sample table appears, and then save all the environment.

hope this helps...
