SAP HANA, express edition - no results from sentiment analysis

Symptom: No results are returned when using the sentiment analysis feature (i.e., text analysis EXTRACTION_CORE_VOICEOFCUSTOMER configuration).

You may also see an error message in the preprocessor trace file containing:

... /lang/dutch-tf-voc-AmbigProfanity.nc'. Make sure the path exists and is accessible.' ...


Cause: The sentiment analysis (EXTRACTION_CORE_VOICEOFCUSTOMER) text analysis configuration expects all language modules to be installed, but the base HANA express edition download only contains English and German.


Workaround: Follow these steps to enable sentiment analysis:

1. Relaunch the Hana express edition Download Manager.

2. Select 'Text analysis files for additional languages'

3. Click Download

4. Login as HANA administration user:

sudo su - hxeadm

5. Navigate to the directory containing the HANA languages modules:

cd /hana/shared/HXE/global/hdb/custom/config/lexicon/lang

6. Extract additional HANA language modules:

tar -xvzf <download_path>/additional_lang.tgz

7. Restart HANA to clear the preprocessor cache:

HDB restart

8. Logout of HANA administration user:

exit
