How to update only Raw material cost(CK11n) in Material Master ?

Hi Everybody,

My client has a requirement where only raw material costs from the BOM should get updated in Material Master (Accounting 1 view in Standard Price field).

But in Receipe & BOM for the Process Order, the client wants all Packing Materials and activites to be maintained.

Pls help me in this regards,

Hi Jagdish,

Let me put it this way to explain you my problem.

When running CK11n,

Total Cost is =

Total Raw Materials used Cost = QTY from BOM * Price from Material Master

+

Total Packing Materials used Cost = QTY from BOM * Price from Material Master

+

Total Utility cost = Qty from receipe * price in KP26

When viewing the cost componenet view in CK11n tcode, I can view the break up as follows

Raw Material Cost = XX rs

Packing Material Cost = XX rs

Overheads = XX rs

Total cost = sum of all above XX rs ( this is the cost which gets updated when realasing price thru t code CK40n)

But my client wants that at time of price relase, system should relase only total raw materil cost as standard price for the Finished Good in Material Master Accounting 1 view.

If this raw material is an assembly and having BOM then total structure will be costed and during release the total costs will be released. You cannot do the cost break up and release.

If this raw material is single and without BOM then the during costing run, the cost of this raw material will be taken from latest PO (if price indicator V) along with material overheads if any is maintained in costing sheets. You will have only raw material costs in material master.

I was aware that mr21 is the last option to update the price.

What i actually want is, that the price while running tcode CK11n, in that "Raw material Cost" in cost component structure should be updated in materil master (standard price) while releasing cost estiamates thru CK40n tc.

Is this possible ?

if you want Raw Material price also to be updated with costing run please untick "do not cost" in costing 1 view of raw materials.

Hi Anita..,

As you aware that it is not Best Practice to maintain Raw material price with price control indicator "S".

for changing of Price of Raw material use T.code MR21.

for update the price of the materials like HALB/FERT, use proper control check in costing 1 view (like with qty stu, mat.orign). but do not cost for ROH.

when you run the costing run automatically price will be updated for halb/fert by leaving your ROH materials.

Hello,

Product cost will be updated only after closing the periods or before relesing the cost,

So If you want to update the Rawmaterial cost before estimate then use TC.MR21 chage the cost and save it.

Then estimate the cost and relese periodically.

Hi,

Raw material prices can be maintained by using T.Code MR21.

It will reflect in Cost estimate (CK11N).

pls try t_code MR21. It is used for changing the price of raw material as per our convienence. I hope that is what your requirement is.
