Container & multiple deliveries

Hi Gurus,

we often deliver and pack in container.

We deliver more than one sales order per container; sometimes even for more than one customer.

On the other side we need delivery papers (customs, freight forwarders,...) for the container.

Is there any way to handle this (eg. packing list) within ByD?

Kind regards,

Klaus

Dear Klaus,

For each Outbound delivery there is a provision of Pro Forma Invoice which more or less acts as a Invoice as well as Delivery Paper.Ypu will be able to generate Pro forma Invoice for each Outbound delivery and not for multiple Outbound deliveries in one Proforma Invoice.

I hope this answers your query.

Regards,

Sandeep

Hi Klaus,

did you try "shipments"?

in ECC 6.0 there is a similar problem. We have solved it via Shipments. In ByDesign there are shipments as well.

This is how you can proceed:

Create all deliveries that are to be placed in the container.

Create in the Work center Outbound Logistics for the Container a Shipment. Assign all deliveries to this shipment. For the shipment there is a form that can be customized according to the needs of your customer.

Many greetings

Hi Guys,

let me come back on this issue...

The problem is that ByD's packing functionality is only for one delivery. For a container there are multiple sales orders and deliveries. That is because the to be delivered products come in step by step -as soon as they are on stock. Therefore a batch deliveries (all sales order related deliveries in one outbound task) is not possible. In other words: the container contains multiple outbound delivery IDs.

For the packing of a container it would be needed to mark the different (not released) delivery ID's for one ship-to-partyID and pack them to one container. Each delivery ID in this container has already been packed as needed.

Is there any way to do this in standard ByD? Unfortunately the packing functionality is currently not PDI enabled. Our request has been denied.

Regards,

Klaus

Hello Klaus,

ByDesign has packing functionality for outbound deliveries. From this you can print packing labels. Once packed you can release the outbound deliveries.

There is also shipment functionality which allows the printing of a fully populated CMR document.
