I have been reading about both Composite Environment and Composite Application Framework. They seems to be closely related to each other. Howevever, can someone explain to me the main difference between them? It will be nice if example can be given in .NET terminology as I am coming from this field. Thanks!
Hi Alex,
CE and CAF are not on the same level to mark out the differences.
For CE - look here: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70ee68d8-d37f-2a10-25be-f87c30a8...
For CAF - look here:
And, of course, library assistance is always there: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/index.htm
Let me know if its helpful

Hi Vani,
Actually, I have go through some of the materials that you've sent to me.
Maybe I conclude my understanding in a few words.
"Composite environment is an integrated platform for develop and execute composite application while CAF is a framework within the composite environment for modeling the services and processes."
Is my understanding correct?
Regards,
Alex
Hi Alex,
Yes you're right
SAP NetWeaver CE provides the tools and the environment for
implementing and running composite applications quickly and
efficiently. It leverages the SAP NetWeaver platform that simplifies the integration of heterogeneous environments and legacy systems into user-centric applications.

Hi Alex,
CAF 7.0 is part of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) and CAF 7.1 is part of SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1
On a pragmatic front its just a perspective available in NWDS for CE 7.1
check this blog by jan Rauscher for capabilities of CAF 7.1
