Internal order settlement issue

we have one IO where we have posted value over a three year and used to settle regularly

but i just noted that sometime we have settled more amount than what we posted to internal order.

how could it be possible? shouldnt system stop us to settle more amount than we posted to it?

please let me know if there are any possibilites where above situation can happen.
