We have a requirement where our part time employees can work anywhere from 30-39 hours a week. They are non exempt and do not have 'set' work schedules. Therefore we have configured the work schedule to be 24 hours a day every day, seven days a week. (assigning specific work schedules is not an option)
Because we use ESS to take time off, the system gives the employee the percentage of 24 hours on one day and even worse, the percentage of 24 hours times the range of dates! This has caused many of our employees to have hundreds of hours deducted.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how to create a work schedule for this group of employees so that they can enter in on a given day up to only 8 hours a day and and when requesting a range of dates, it only gives them the number of hours they requested and not default it to 24 hours times the range of dates?
Please help!
Thanks!

To address first part of your question, I would go ahead with a FLEXIBLE Daily work schedule, with min and max limit of it.
I am not sure about how to address: "when requesting a range of dates, it only gives them the number of hours they requested and not default it to 24 hours times the range of dates".
Thanks

Thank you.
We looked at the flex schedules and unfortunately they don't give us the true flexibility we're looking for. It's almost as if we need the system to be able to use planned hours for a single day but when we want to take a range of dates, we want it NOT to look at the planned hours.
Strange request I know, but that's our requirements.
