Moving Unused queries to a new Folder

Former Member

Hello All,

We are on BW 3.5.The issue is:In production, I have lot of queries which are not used anymore, but this queries are still available under the specified Cubes/Ods.Hence, the user has to scroll up/down or find the queries which are newly created or freequently used.

Is there a way with which i can move all the old queries to one folder/infoarea ? So, that there is a clear visibility of old queries/less used and the ones freequently used in Bex.

Also, is there a possibility of achieving this by creating different roles and assigning the queries ?

Your replies are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Regards,

Parth.

Hi Partho,

first you have to save this query with another technical name in new folder and delete the old query.

1.open your query ,now goto query to see the option save as, here while saving you can see the new folder option in save window.

create new folder and save your query.

2.now open your old query now goto query to to see delete option ,

now you can delete this query.

if u are not clear feel free to ask any question.

Thanks

Hi Tulsi,

Thanks for your response.

But i cannot do a "Save As" for all the queries. I am dealing with almost 100 + queries here. Also, i will have to transport all these to production and delete the old ones.

The folder creation option mentioned by you was helpful, but i am looking for something where i can move all my unused queries into this newly created folder.

Please Let me know if this is possible.

Thanks.
