Automatically Determined Approver List in Marketing 1702 vs 1709

Hi All,

We have recently upgraded to the Hybris Marketing 1702 version for a client. We are currently investigating a question asked about the Approver list which they can see when submitting a campaign for approval.

Currently they see all users on the system in this list. I can see a change in the SAP documentation for version 1709 in which the list of approvers is determined automatically (this was not in the documentation for previous versions):

Determined automatically

The approvers must be selected while submitting the request for approval. For example, when a user submits a request for campaign approval, they must select from a list of users to approve the campaign. Only users who have authorization to approve a specific object are displayed and can be selected.

My question is then: Is this functionality present in 1702, in which I should only see users with the authorisation to approve campaigns?

This will allow us to answer our client or look at our composite roles which could be allowing all users to be displayed.

Many thanks for the support,

    Hi Jonny,

according to the What's New information there should not be a difference in regards to the functionality you raised this question.

In 1709 release we added however, the feature of multiple steps and multiple approvers in a workflow for campaigns and target groups.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Hi Jonny,

in 1702- You get the list of users from the system when you press the F4 option after submitting the approval,

while in 1709 what you have is 2 options.

    a. same as 1702

    b. in the manage workflow app, you can hard-code the users whom you want the approval to be sent to with the flexibility of only one of the user approving it or all of them approving, so you can pretty much define the list of approvers here, so at the point of submission no pop up to select an approver is displayed.

As for 1702, there is a role which is required for approval, did you try by assigning the role to only selected users and see if the system still prompts all the system users in the approvers pop up.
