Hi Jonathan,

There are so mane ways we can check this...one of the easiest way is go to RSRT and execute a query in "JAVA Web".

One quick and easy way is to open a query in Query designer and goto the Publish to BEx brodcaster from the drop down menu on the top. If it does not open a dialog box for Broadcaster, you might not have Portals installed yet.

Hello Jonathan,

To answer your first and specific question: Shalin Shah is correct.

Hope and politely requesting you do not stray or diverge or add additional variants to your original question, "Original Question= How can I make sure if the portal is already connected with BI7 and configured correctly?"

- if you have a variant to your original question, politely suggest you open a new forum question for the (newish) variant ) else Shalin may be very happy to accept 100 points for the possible 10 question variants.

Use TCode: RSRT or RSRT2.

(ii) Choose the HTML (display) variant to be able to review web query outputs (not the others options for Excel/Bex or list type displays)

(iii) Choose a query (any query) by either Inforea, favourites/history, infoprovider, role etc.

(iv) Look for and choose the "Java Web" icon towards the middle left of the RSRT screen (not the "Abap Web (WAS)" icon located more to the left side of the screen)

(v) Execute RSRT for (EPJava Portal) web query by pressing the "Java Web" icon.

(vi) If the (enterprise) EPC portal is configured correctly, you will then be directed or see the portal logon screen or be able to see the web query displayed in the portal. (i.e.. easy and sure check way)

(vii) if you press the other "Abap Web (WAS)" icon, you will run a web query but it's for the old WAS BI-portal ("old BW3.5" WAS web application server web display")

Hope this helps.
