Loading hierarchy from one InfoObject to another (export data source)

Hi,

I want to move hierarchy from one infoobject (let say info1) to another (info2). I want to make it by generated 'export data sources'.

I'v made following steps :

1. Signed first infoobject (info1) as 'characteristics is export data source'.

2. Replicated 8*info1 data source

3. Assigned data source 8*info1 to infosource info2.

4. Try to activate transfer rule between source 8*info1 and infosource info2.

But the activation was not possible, becouse in the menu the command "Activate" is grey and cannot be selected.

Why ? Is it not possible to copy hierarchy by loading from generated export data source ?

Hello,

Is is possible.

Fisrt, consider if you want to fill the hierarchy of the destination only once in time, or from time to time.

I guess if that is the case (the hierarchy of the InfoObject of origin doesn't change much) then download the hierarchy to a file with transaction se38 program Z_SAP_HIERARCHY_DOWNLOAD and then create an Infosource for the InfoObject of destination to fill the hierarchy from flat file.

If You want to fill from another characteristic do the following:

Do the exact same thing you did, but click on save, you dont't need the activate.

It should work fine.

I'v already found out, that you don't need to activate it. Loadng is possible without activation.
