What is RTP?

What is the movement type used in receipt of RTP?

Hi,

Important Points to be remembered.

1. We can use any material for RTP or we can use LEIH material type for a material of RTP type.

2. During GR we do it with respect to PO so the material ordered within the PO displays as default. In order to get the RTP material we add a separate material with 501 M mvt type. The order material will have 101 mvt type.

3. Initial Entry for RTP is also possible with MB1C 561 M.

4. Transfer posting of RTP material from one storage location to another can also me done with the mvt type 311 M.

5. You post a return with reversal movement types 502 M and 562 M.

Returnable Packaging materials are multi-trip packaging medium (for example, pallets, drums, carbouys or bulk bags etc) used to transport goods more than once between vendors and customers and come with the goods free of charge. A material master record of this material type is managed as non valuated material and managed only on quantity basis and not on value basis.

When Raw material / packing material is posted for goods receipt through 101 movement type in MIGO transaction, the returnable transport packaging material such as drums, carbouys etc., can be posted by selecting u2018Transport Equipmentu2019 button in the item overview of Goods Receipt screen. When this button is selected, the system uses u2018501 Mu2019 movement type to post the returnable transport packaging material into unrestricted stock of RTP. Since, u2018501 Mu2019 movement type is used for GR posting, the returnable transport packing materials do not have any reference to the purchase orders.

The stock of Returnable Transport Packaging material increases by the quantity of receipt made. Since, the stock is vendor stock; there will not be any change in the valuated stock.

The Good Issue of Returnable Transport Packaging Material can be carried out through u2018502 Mu2019 movement type.

Returnable transport packaging (RTP) is a multi-trip packaging medium (for example, pallets or containers) in which goods can be transported more than once between vendors and customers.

Returnable transport packaging from a vendor that is stored at a location on your premises is managed as special stock and clearly assigned as belonging to the vendor. It is the property of the vendor and is therefore not included in the customeru2019s valuated stock.

Structure of Special Stock Data

To enable you to manage the returnable transport packaging stocks of material belonging to different vendors separately, special stock data is required in addition to material master data.

This special stock data is defined for every vendor at the storage location level.

Special stock data is created automatically when the first receipt is posted into the returnable transport packaging stock. This data cannot be maintained directly by the user but is updated automatically with every goods movement (or physical inventory).

RTP stocks from vendors are externally owned and are not valuated.

RTP stock is always unrestricted-use stock. The stock can neither be in quality inspection nor blocked.

Depending on the system configuration, returnable transport packaging stock can also be negative. Negative stocks occur when you return an RTP quantity to the vendor before you have entered the goods receipt in the system (i.e. the goods issue is posted before the goods receipt).

it is Returnamble Transport Packaging....

it is a special stock.. and is attached with all movment types.

LEIH is the material type to be used for creating the material master

M- is beeing used as special stock
