ODS

Hi Experts,

Good day to all !

we have 2 ods .one is 6 crore records and other one 8 crore records. Here we have some space issue .shall i execute the querirs on these huge contain ODS.if the huge data contains always prefarable for infocbue only here we some space constraint also.

Can any explain me about why not executed queries on ODS if it is data contains huge data.

    Hi Ram,

    When you run run queries on an infoprovider with huge number of records it will take long time to

    retrieve & display the results.

    Now coming to the distinction between reporting on an infocube to that to an ODS, it is like this:

    ...InfoCube Design is optimised for reading/retriving so its ideal for reporing

    ...Where as ODS design is more optimised for writing/loading the data quickly

      hi,

      Thank you very much for your reply. in my ods 43 infoobjects are there and alomost 9 creore records are there.i would like to create infocube to updating this ods .can you please suggest me good design of infocube like how many diminsion shall i take and necessary steps to conisder.

      my ODS is 0FIGL_O02 is there any stanadrd infocube is there or shall i go for customized infocube
