Hi,
We close MM posting periods in MMPV for company code
and accounting does it for table OB52 FOR ACCOUNT Type M
I have a question ,if we don't do the OB52 closing ,will we be still able to do mm closing ?
What effect it will have?
Thanks in advance?

I think you will be able to close MM period independently of FI periods. The only thing you have to ensure is that all the goods movement related postings are done before closing the MM period. Even if the MM period is open, you will not be able to post goods movement that hit GL accounts, if the FI period is not open.

Hi Srikanth,
Thanks for your reply
In my case accounts has decided to keep the FI period open all the the time in OB52 for Account type M
and we will be only using MM for closing and opening through MMPV
My question is
Is it advisable to keep the entry M in OB52 table as blank or delete that entry?
Will it affect anything?

Looks like your accounts dept. has taken a cue from somewhere that they can keep all FI periods in the year open for acct. type M. I think their decision is good - I have seen quite some clients preferring to keep it open on the FI side. You can control it only with MMPV. Do not delete the line in OB52.
Hi,
In this case you can post anything that doesn't afect the FI module. For example you can post a purchase order, but you can't post an invoice because this one goes in FI.
