SolMan 7.1 MS 2012 Cluster - sapclus.dll update fail

Hey experts,

So we are trying to update our MS 2012 cluster to a newer version of the cluster dll's and at the same time switch the resources from generic to third party (=SAP) using the powershell script provided in the download.
Now this all seems to work wonderfully for all our netweaver 7.40 systems with a 7.45 kernel but the SolMan 7.1 with it's 7.21 kernel just doesn't feel the love. After we update the .dll's and run the script it just doesn't start anymore, when we revert everything back again it works again.

So I have 2 questions:

- this sound familiar? Anyone know the solution? HIT ME!

- if nobody has a clue, please let me know where I could potentially find some relevant logs.
